Theoretical Knowledge and Practical Skills of Rehabilitation of 112 Nurses in Beijing

Abstract
Objective To understand the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of rehabilitation of nurses and to provide the basis for rehabilitation nursing specialist training. Methods A self-designed questionnaire was applied to survey 112 rehabilitation nurses from 5 hospitals in Beijing. Results There was no statistical significance on theoretical knowledge of nurses with different working length but there was difference on practical skills (P=0.00). The longer service year, the better rehabilitation skills. Nurses from hospitals with different grades presented no significant difference on theoretical knowledge and rehabilitation skills ( P>0.05). Most rehabilitation nurses received training within the department. Only 15.0% of the nurses with 5-year service length had the opportunity to have further domestic study and only 5.0% of them could go abroad for further study. Conclusion Rehabilitation nurses have inadequate cognition on theoretical knowledge and poor skills for lacking systematic training. It is necessary to standardize the training for them.关键词
