先秦儒家动物伦理思想刍议
Humble Opinions on Pre-Qin Confucian Animal Ethics
摘要
Abstract
The pre-Qin Confucian animal ethics focused on three aspects: animals ’ social functions, moral entitlements and protection. As to animals’social functions, the pre-Qin Confucians confirmed animals’ importance for human life and material production. In the respect of moral entitlements, Confucius, Mencius and Xun Zi differed and experienced a periodical development, though they all regarded human beings superior to animals. In regard to animal protection, the pre-Qin Confucians acknowledged the multiple values of politics, ethics, economy and ecology of animal protection, and put forward ethical principles such as maintainability, prohibiting hunting and killing according to seasons. Based on the mentality, Confucius, Mencius and Xun Zi established China ’ s earliest and relatively systematic animal ethics, an interpretation of and a study on which will be of great significance for nowadays’ecological civilization construction.关键词
