珊瑚礁海水pH变化及其对海洋酸化的意义
Reef Water pH Variation andIts Implications for Ocean Acidification

Abstract
Intherecent century, it is calculated that reef water pH has fallen by0.2-0.3 pH units worldwide due to the increase of atmospheric CO2concentration, threatening the life of coral reefs. However, the long-term variation of reef water pH revealed byδ11B inthe calcareousskeletonsof coraldemonstrateseminentinterannual anddecadal periodicities,and the variation was a result of the combined influences ofregionalmarineclimate processes and biological activities inthereef ecosystem. Metabolism in reef waterscontrolsthe dynamics of carbonate system parameters and regulates the variations of water pH.Influenced byglobalclimate and environmentalchangesand regionalmarine climateprocesses, biological activities in reef waterexerteffects on variationsofseawater pH, resulting indifferentialresponses to ocean acidificationfrom coralreefwater of differentsea areas. Therefore,learningthe effectsofthebiological activitiesof coral reefsonmarinewater pHat long-term timescales is very important for understanding the acidification mechanisms of coral reef waters, and it isalsoan important meanstolearnhowthe coralreef ecosystem respondsto ocean acidification.关键词
