Abstract

Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which is a brain modulation technology for brain function, can be effectively used in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illnesses and neurological disorders. TMS is widely applied in the clinical diagnosis and treatment and rehabilitation of brain disorders. The existing transcranial magnetic stimulator, however, is mostly bulky, expensive, and dififcult to meet the growing demand from family and community health services. Therefore, portable transcranial magnetic stimulation (portable TMS) has gained more and more attention. The techniques have been improved significantly. This article provides introduction of the progression of portable transcranial magnetic stimulation techniques.
