Theory of "Wind Herbs" and Its Application
摘要
Abstract
The theory of "wind herbs" stemmed from the understanding of ancient Chinese on the manifes-tation,nature and characteristic of the wind. Ancient Chinese held that Gou Mang was the god in charge of wind, and things of hooked-shape or awn-like were related to the wind and were the "wind herbs" such as Shinan (Folium Photiniae),Jili (Fructus Tribuli),Wujia (Cortex Acanthopanacis),Gouteng (Ramulus Uncariae Cum Uncis) and Quanxie(Scorpio). Things that were induced by the wind or diseased by the wind possess the wind nature and were the wind herbs, such as Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus),Chan (Cicadae) and Sang (Mori). Herbs with the nature of wind, such as light and rising, are regarded as wind herb, such as Fang feng(Radix Saposhnikoviae),Chaihu(Radix Bupleuri),Shengma(Rhizoma Cimicifugae),Xixin(Radix et Rhizoma Asari).关键词
