Abstract
Podocyte slit diaphragm (SD) protein is an important component of SD,which plays a key role in maintaining the integrity of the structure and function of SD ,and is closely related to the occurrence of proteinuria. Intervention of active ingredients extracted from traditional Chinese medicine on SD protein structure,function and mechanism,has become a hot research of prevention and treatment of diabetic nephro-pathy. In this paper,recent research status of SD protein,and the intervention of the active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine and its mechanism were reviewed ,which mainly elaborated the intervention of active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine,for example Triptergium wifordii,Leguminosae,Centella asiat-ica,Ligusticum,chuanxiong,Fiveleaf Gynostemma Herb,pseudo-ginseng,Ophiocordyceps sinensis,Radixgin sengr-ubra,Schisandra,and other traditional Chinese medicine on the SD protein,especially nephrin and podocin protein,and prevention mechanism of proteinuria,in order to better design prevention programs of early proteinuria and provide new research strategies for the prevention of nephrotic syndrome.
