摘要

Abstract

The experiment was conducted to study the effects of stem and leaf feed of mulberry on performance and meat quality of meat rabbits.A total of 144 healthy 35-day-old New Zealand rabbits with the similar body weight were randomly divided into four groups, and each group had six replicates with six rabbits in each repli-cate.Rabbits in four groups were fed experimental diets which were supplemented with 0 ( control group), 8%, 16%and 24%stem and leaf feed of mulberry, respectively.The experiment was 7 days for adaptation and 42 days for trial period.The results showed as follows: the average daily gain in 24%group was signifi-cantly lower than that in control group ( P<0.05) , while the feed/gain in 24%group was significantly higher than that in control group ( P<0.05) .In addition, a* value at 24 h and pH at 45 min of back muscle and leg muscle were significantly higher than those in control group ( P<0.05 ) .The drip loss rate and inosinic acid content of back muscle and leg muscle in 16%and 24%groups were significantly lower and higher than those in control group ( P<0.05) , respectively.The contents of linolenic acid in back muscle and leg muscle and pal-mitic acid in leg muscle in 16%and 24%groups were significantly higher than those in control group ( P<0.05) .In conclusion, when the supplemental level of stem and leaf feed of mulberry less than 16%, there is no significant influence on the performance, but can increase the muscle flavor substance content, and then im-prove the meat quality of meat rabbits.
