摘要

Abstract

The Knudsen compressor is a certain apparatus operating according to the principle of the micro /nano-scale thermal transpiration.The Knudsen compressor,typically composed of a series of micro-channels and a connector,possesses a simple structure without moving parts and can utilize low-grade heat energy.This paper mainly discusses structural characteristics of the Knudsen compressor,as well as sums up recent state-of-art on the research aspects of boost ability,flow rate and efficiency for the device.The micro-channel materials available for the Knudsen compressor are also compared and analyzed.And the fields of the current practical and potential applications of the Knudsen compressor are presented.At last,the research and development trend of the Knudsen compressor is investigated based on its features and the lack of the current investigation.
