Abstract
Conventional triaxial experiments of the sand⁃gravel material with special gradation and different relative densities were performed under different confining pressure. The effects of relative density on strength behavior were investigated. The experimental results indicate that the relative density and confining stress of the sample show a positive correlation with its peak intensity. With the increase of relative density and confining stress, the peak intensity is increased and a functional relationship between them is established. With the same confining stress, the failure deviatoric stress ratio increases with the increasing of relative density at different degrees, and the growth trend is not obvious under high confining stress. The relationship between nonlinear strength parameters and relative density of the sample is approximately linear.关键词
