Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the effect of Buyang Huanwu decoction on treating diabetic peripheral neu-ropathy(DPN) by meta-analysis. Methods:Literature on the randomized controlled clinical trial of using Buyang Huanwu decoction treating DPN was retrieved from the CNKI,Wanfang Data,VIP and other related databas-es,and was screened to choose the qualified research. A meta-analysis was conducted to analyze the data. Results:There were 27 studies meeting with the inclusion criteria. Results of meta-analysis showed that Buyang Huanwu decoction or Buyang Huanwu decoction plus western medicine was different from western medicine in treating DPN,with statistical significance [OR=5.95,95%CI=(4.76,7.45),Z=15.59,P<0.000 01], and Buyang Huanwu decoction alone was different from western medicine alone in treating DPN ,with statis-tical significance [OR=7.00,95%CI=(5.15,9.52),Z=12.40,P<0.000 01]. Conclusion:Buyang Huanwu decoc-tion or Buyang huanwu decoction plus western medicine was superior to western medicine alone in treating DPN. The original study,however,was of poor quality,and there are certain defects in the results.关键词
