Abstract

Fly ash particles from the inlet and outlet of the WESP in a 300 MW ultra low emission coal-fired power plant were sampled by a Dekati DPI small particle sampling collector, the mass concentrations and diameter distributions of fly ash particles in the flue gas were measured. PM10, PM2.5 and PM1 removal efficiency were then calculated using the above measurement data. The measurement results indicate that WEPS has an outstanding particle removal efficiency. The particle concentration dropped from 16.1 mg/m3 to 1.8 mg/m3 after flue gas passing through WESP, particle removal efficiency had reached 88%. Ultra low emission standard of flue gas particles can be achieved using WESP, the particle emission could be less than 5 mg/m3. The PM2.5 removal efficiency of WESP has reached 75% when the coal-fired unit worked in 100% unit load. Particles with diameters larger than 10μm were removed significantly using WESP.
