Clinical significance and expression of Ki-67 in basal-like breast carcinoma
摘要
Abstract
Objective To explore the expression of Ki -67 protein in basal-like breast carcinoma ( BLBC ) and analyze the association between its expression and the clinicopathological characteristics . Methods Sixty-seven patients with BLBC were selected as treatment group and 58 cases with non basal -like breast carcinoma as control group.The strept avidin-biotin complex immunohistochemical technique was used to examine the expression of Ki -67 in two groups.Results The positive expression in control group and treatment group were 39.7%, 94.0%, respectively ( P <0.05 ).The expression of Ki-67 was found to be positively correlated with histological grading of tumor and lymphnode metastasis ( P<0.05 ) , but not with age and tumor size ( P>0.05 ).Conclusion Ki-67 may play an important role in the progression of BLBC , and it may be a suitable immunohistochemical indicator for judging the prognosis of the basal -like breast carcinoma .关键词
