Clinical efficacy of Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric -coated capsules combined with mesalazin enteric -coated tablets in the treatment of the patients with ulcerative colitis

Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric-coated capsules combined with mesalazin enteric-coated in treatment of the patients with ulcerative coli-tis.Methods A total of 118 cases of patients with ulcerative colitis were divided into trial group ( n=59 ) and control group ( n=59 ) .The control group was treated with mesalazin enteric -coated 1 g, tid, and the trial group were treated with Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric-coated capsule 500 mg, tid.The treatment lasted for one month.The changes of interleukin -8(IL-8),tumor necrosis factor -α(TNF-α), superoxide dismutase ( SOD ) , methane dicarboxylic aldehyde ( MDA ) levels before and after treatment and the adverse drug reaction were com-pared before and after treatment.Results The total effective rate in trial group was significantly higher than that of control group ( P <0.05 ) . After treatment, the IL-8, TNF-αlevels in both groups were signifi-cantly lower than that of before treatment ( P<0.05 ); after treatment, IL-8 levels in trial group was significantly lower than that of control group ( P<0.05 );the SOD levels in both groups increased significantly ( P<0.05 ) and MDA decreased significantly ( P<0.05 ) , the SOD levels in trial group was significantly higher than that of control group ( P<0.05 ) and the MDA was significantly lower than that of control group ( P<0.05 ).There were no significant adverse drug reactions during the treatment course.Conclusion Clinical efficacy of Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium enteric-coated cap-sules combined with mesalazin enteric -coated in treatment of the patients with ulcerative colitis was significant , which can significantly reduce the IL -8 , TNF-α, and MDA levels and improve the SOD level.关键词
