Abstract
Objective To observe the therapeutic effects of bone-setting work,a traditional practice for the Qing Court,on the obsolete ankle sprain.Methods 54 patients with obsolete ankle sprain were treated with the bone-setting manipulation.The therapeutic effects were assessed by comparing the ankle function scores of before and after treatment,according to Baird-Jackson ankle scoring system.Results After treatment,the scores of pain,stability,walking ability,running ability,working ability,range of motion,as well as the total scores were significantly higher than those of before treatment(P <0.05). The total effective rate was 1 00.0% with 46 cured (85.2%),7 markedly improved (1 3.0%),1 im-proved (1 .8%)and none of ineffective.According to Baird-Jackson criteria,36 cases got the scores of 96 to 1 00,1 4 ones got the scores of 91 to 95 and 4 cases got 81 to 90,with the excellent and good rate was 92.6%.Conclusion The efficiency of the Qing Court’s practice of bone-setting on obsolete ankle sprain was proved.关键词
