摘要

Abstract

Outburst flood of tributary moraine dammed lakes is a new risk and the railway and highway construction have never dealt with it. In addition, Tibetan river channels have complex shapes with different widths and the error is too big when peak flattening method is used directly to calculate outburst flood. Based on the flume experiment, we find that when the tributary flood flows into the main river it is shunted and diffused, and the local resistance loss increases because of the flow disturbance when the flood arrives at the sudden contraction section in the channel;and the flow and peak water level attenuate significantly in that two sections. The Lee Stevan formula and Xie Renzhi formula are modified for the attenuation, and attenuation coefficients are added to original formulas to apply to complex situations of flood calculation. Midui moraine lake outburst illustrates that the modified formulas have higher accuracy and can be used for rapid assessment of outburst flood risk, which matches the accuracy requirements of the principle scheme of the railway line selection.
