Abstract
Straddle monorail is a good means of urban rail transit of medium capacity. It has the advantages of environmental protection, good landscape effect, strong topography adaptability, low cost, short construction time, small coverage area, and but it also has the disadvantages of poor adaptability to ice and snow, high traction energy consumption. There remain some misunderstanding on rubber dust, evacuation and rescue, operation safety, operation cost, adaptive scope, landscape effect and real estate. This paper addresses the disadvantages and misunderstanding, analyzes the causes for low application. Furthermore, it analyzes the current status and problems involved in urban rail transit development and the national guiding policy. Finally, with the stage transformation of urban rail transit development, the misunderstanding should be eliminated and sustainable development of urban rail transit promoted.关键词
