Abstract

It is common that both instructors and learners always lay great emphasis on grammatical study but pay less attention to vocabularies during the process of Korean learning. In fact, any language learning is supposed to begin with vocabulary study, including Korean. Therefore, instructors are expected to emphasize the importance of vocabulary study for Korean learners when instructing at the very beginning. It is proved by instructing practice that the vocabulary - based - oriented method of instruction with high feasibility and more acceptances, such as wordplay, lexical classification, word association, etc.,is capable of enlarging Korean vocabulary, improving the reading ability and polishing the listening and speaking ability.
