Abstract
Objective To compare the success rates of two methods for neonatal BCG vaccination. Methods A total of 326 cases of newborns were randomly divided into two groups. 166 cases of experimental group received BCG vaccination by modified intradermal injection method, while 160 cases of control group received BCG vaccination by routine intradermal injection method. The inoculation effects of two groups were compared. Results The success rate of once puncture, qualified rate of standard skin rash, BCG scar rate 12 weeks after vaccination, and positive rate of tuberculin purified-protein derivative (PPD) test of experimental group were significantly higher than those of control group (all P <0.01). Conclusions Modified intradermal injection method for neonatal BCG vaccination has the advantages of easy to fix, hard to leak, accurate dosage, compliant skin rash size, and high vaccination success rate, which is superior to routine intradermal injection method.关键词
