Abstract

Reaction pressure vessel is the core equipment for the pressure boundary of the coolant in the primary loop.The seal between head flange and shell flange of the vessel is one of the key technologies during the design and manufacture,and is critically important for the long-term safe service of the nuclear power unit.Finite element analysis is introduced to determine the deformational characteristics of the C-ring for head flange of the reaction pressure vessel.A relation between loading and displacement of the C-ring is acquired through experiment to verify the finite element method.The results show that the finite element model can well simulate the deformational characteristics of the C-ring,and the numerical compu-tation well agrees with the experimental ones.Based on the results,section linearity is introduced to deal with the nonlinear loading and displacement curve of the C-ring.Besides,C-ring deformational character-istics are effected by its dimensional parameters.
