Synthesis of quaternary ammonium salt surfactant and its application in the alkali decrement

Abstract
Epichlorohydrin was grafted onto the hyperbranched polyester Boltorn H20, and the intermedi⁃ate was gained, then, the intermediate was modified by hexadecyldimethylamine, at last the hyperbranched quaternary ammonium salt surfactant H20Cl6N was prepared. The surface activity of H20Cl6N was character⁃ized and the results stated that its critical micel e concentration was 1.250 g/L, minimum interfacial tension was 33.720 mN/m, and toluene solubilization capacity was 0.32 mL/g. The deweighting loss percentage and rupture strength of polyester fabric were 31% and 540 N, respectively, when H20Cl6N was accelerator for al⁃kali decrement. The deweighting loss percentage and rupture strength of polyester fabric were 32% and 526 N, respectively, when 1227 was accelerator for alkali decrement. Thus, H20Cl6N made less damage to the polyester fabric strength, when there was a similar deweighting loss percentage between H20Cl6N and 1227.关键词
