Abstract

Acrylated epoxidized soybean oil was prepared through esterification of soybean oil and acrylic acid. The softener was synthesized by acrylated soybean oil and polymethylhydrosiloxane. The effects of tem⁃perature, time, molar ratio of acrylated soybean oil to polymethylhydrosiloxane on the conversion yield were discussed. The optimal reaction process was determined: the temperature was 70 ℃, the time was 4 h, and the molar ratio of acrylated soybean oil to polymethylhydrosiloxane was 1.3∶1. A series of experiments were taken to test the softness, repel ency and wrinkle resistance. The results showed that the softener based on soybean oil had certain softness, good repel ency and wrinkle resistance.
