Abstract
Objective:To explore the relationship between GCC mRNA expression of lymph nodes and prognosis in elder patients of early stage rectal cancer .Method: The expression of GCC mRNA in lymph nodes of 48 elder patients of early stage rectal cancer were detected by RT-PCR method,they were divided into the GCC mRNA positive group for 12 cases and the negative groups for 36 cases. The relationship between local recurrence, distant metastasis rate, disease-free survival of 3 years (DFS),over-all survival (OS) and GCC mRNA expression levels of the two groups were analyzed.Result: The GCC mRNA negative group had lower local recurrence and distant metastasis rate, disease-free survival of 3 years was higher(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the overall survival rate of 3 years between the two groups.Conclusion: Lymph node GCC mRNA expression level is closely related to the prognosis of early stage rectal cancer in elder patients. It can be used as an effective molecular marker in lymph node micrometastase of rectal cancer.关键词
