Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between the levels of synovial fluid matrix metalloproteinase-7 (MMP-7), matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9), matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor-1 (TIMP-1), tumor necrosis factor-α with the severity of knee osteoarthritis (KOA).Met hods According to the X-ray, 97 knee osteoarthritis patients, were divided into 0 to IV stages based on the severity of KOA; and WOMAC osteoarthritis index scores were evaluated. Another 10 healthy volunteers were selected as the control group. MMP-7 , MMP-9, TIMP-1 and TNF-α level in knee joint fluid were all detected. Results MMP-7, MMP-9, TIMP-1 and TNF-α levels of synovial fluid in KOA group were significantly higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of MMP-7,MMP-9, TIMP-1and TNF-α in the synovial fluid were significantly increased with the aggravation of the lesions. Conclusion MMP-7, MMP-9,TIMP-1 and TNF-α level in the knee joint fluid increased in patients with osteoarthritis and were closely related with the extent of the lesions; so detection of these indicators will be helpful to judge the condition of osteoarthritis of the knee.关键词
