Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of different catheterization time and urine collection bags on urinary tract infection of elderly patients and to provide references for rational catheterization. Methods 60 elderly patients requiring indwelling catheterization in our hospital from January 2014 to June 2015 were selected and they were randomly divided into group A and group B. Group A was received One-direction valve urine collection bags and group B was received ordinary sterile collection bags. Urine of the first, third, fifth, seventh, ninth day was pumped for pathogenic bacteria cultivation. Urinary tract infection of patients was observed. Results On first,third,fifth,seventh,ninth day of catheterization, urinary tract infection of 60 patients was gradually increased and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Separate pathogenic bacterium of urine cultivation was escherichia coli, fungi, pseudomonas aeruginosa, staphylococcus aureus and klebsiella. Infection rate of escherichia coli was significantly higher than that of other strains (P < 0.05). Rates of urinary tract infection of the third of catheterization in two groups had no significant difference.Rates of urinary tract infection of the fifth,seventh,ninth day of catheterization in the group A were significantly lower than group B(P < 0.05).Within group A, infection rates of third day and fifth and seventh day had no significant difference(P>0.05),but it was significantly different from that of the ninth day(P<0.05).Within group B, infection rates of third day and the fifth day had no significant difference(P>0.05),but the difference in that of third day and seventh and ninth day was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Catheterization time, urine bag selection and replacement time are important factors to urinary tract infection of elderly patients.Urinary tract infection will significantly increase when catheterization time is more than a week.One-direction valve collection bag can reduce urinary tract infections.Replacement time should be controlled within once a week while the ordinary urine bag should be changed twice a week.关键词
