摘要

Abstract

This work summarized a severe plastic deformation ( SPD) technique for preparing bulk ultrafine-nano-structured metallic materials, i. e. accumulative roll bonding ( ARB ) . Particular emphasis was placed on the fundamental understanding of the ARB technology principle and the interfacial bonding mechanism. According to preliminary research work, the grain refinement mechanism, texture evolution, structure-property relationship and the major strengthening mechanisms in the ARB-processed materials were discussed in detail. The major problems existing in practical applications of ARB were addressed to make it one of the most promising process in preparing materials with UFG microstructure.
