Effects of Gracilari Residue Fermentation Culture on Growth Performance and Rectal Microflora of Weaned Piglets

Abstract
This experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of gracilari residue fermentation culture on growth performance and rectal microflora of weaned piglets.Two hundred and ten healthy 28-day-old weaned piglets were randomly allocated into 7 groups with 3 replicates per group and 10 pigs per replicate.Piglets in the control group were fed a basal diet, while the others in the experimental groups were fed the experimental diets supplemented with 0.10%, 0.25%and 0.50%gracilari residue or gracilari residue fermentation culture, re-spectively.The results showed that compared with the control group, gracilari residue had no significant effects on the growth performance of weaned piglets ( P>0.05) , however, gracilari residue fermentation culture could significant improved the average daily gain (P<0.05), and could significant decreased feed to gain and diar-rhea rate ( P<0.05) , also could significant decreased water content and the quantity of Escherichia coli in the feces ( P<0.05) .Compared with control group, the experimental group with addition of 0.10%gracilari resi-due fermentation culture significantly decreased feed to gain and diarrhea rate by 7.34%and 52.86%, respec-tively, and significantly increased the quantity of Lactobacillus by 45.73%and decreased the quantity of Esche-richia coli by 16.48%in rectum, also significantly decreased the water content and the quantity of Escherichia coli by 12.63% and 25.68% in the feces, respectively.In conclusion, dietary supplemented with 0.10%gracilari residue fermentation culture can improve the gr owth performance of weaned piglets, and decrease feed to gani and diarrhea rate, as well as improve the microbiota in the r ectum.关键词
