Abstract

Early w arning of groundw ater pollution in source field is an import ant base for water resource protection and manage-ment. In order to control groundw ater pollution and improve the predictability and the initiative of groundw ater protection, t his paper proposed a new w ay for groundw ater pollut ion early w arning, based on current wat er quality status and pollution risk. Current water quality is a basement and it determines the initial stat e of pollution early w arning. Pollution risk includes pollution sources load and pollution hazard, which ref lects the influence of human activit ies on groundw ater and determines the develop-ment of regional pollution. T his paper took the drinking w ater sources in alluvial-pluvial fan of Hun River as an example and e-valuated the early w arning value through factor assessment and overlay analysis. The results indicated that most groundw ater source fields in alluvial- pluvial fan of H un River had suffered from pollut ion to some degrees. These results can provide certain theoretical foundation for local groundwat er sources protection.
