Abstract
The welded bifurcated penstock consists of main penstock, bifurcation and welded side.It is a shell combined structure.Its stress distribution and deformation under action of the internal hydraulic pressure are quite uneven.Calculated by the conventional structural me-chanics method, their results are rough.The stress and its distribution of the whole penstock and local components cannot be calculated accu-rately.By application of the finite element method, the stress distribution and deformation of the bifurcated penstock can be calculated, ana-lyzed and learnt at design stage, provide the rational design of the bifurcated penstock with important basis.关键词
