Abstract

Color Rendering Index ( CRI) , which was recommended by Commission internationale de I′Eclairage ( CIE) , is the current color rendering evaluation standard of light source.The researches have shown that this index can not correctly evaluate the color rendering of LED sources..Therefor, the Color Quality Scale ( CQS) and the Color Rendering Index 2012 ( CRI 2012 ) were proposed as the new color rendering evaluation standards.The applicability of the new evaluation standards requires extensive experiments for validation.In this article, the spectrum of 10 kinds of fluorescent and 25 kinds of LED lamps which are commonly available in the market were measured.And the CRI Ra, CQS Qa and CRI Ra, 2012 values of these light sources were calculated.The correlations among the three indexes, the spectrum of the tested lamps and the reflecting coefficient of the color sample of the three evaluation standards were analyzed.The results show that there is significant difference among the three indexes when evaluating tri-phosphor based fluorescent.However, when evaluating LED, small difference was shown between CRI Ra and CQS Qa, but there is significant difference between CRI Ra, 2012 and CRI Ra or CQS Qa .
