Abstract
As the three-syllable adverb in modern Chinese,“Chong qi liang”mainly functions as an adverbial. It usually appears in declarative sentences especially in judging expressing sentences. In the history of the Chinese language,“Chong qi liang”evolved from a verb-objection phrase into a word, and its lexicalization and adverbial⁃ization were carried out simultaneously. In addition, the word develops from restrictive adverb to expositive adverb by subjectivisation. In discourse, it serves as concession and causality function.关键词
