Discussion on Fei Wei and Bronchiectasis

摘要
Abstract
Fei Wei,mainly manifested as sputum and expectoration,was firstly found in Synopsis of Prescrip-tions of the Golden Chamber. In recent years,some of the scholars consider Fei Wei equals to pulmonary fibrosis. As a matter of fact,the two are different in clinical manifestation. We reviewed all the literatures of traditional Chinese medicine since Han dynasty and found the symptoms of Fei Wei described in the litera-tures were different. The one ZHANG Zhongjing described was symbolized as sputum and expectoration , which was similar to bronchiectasis. After Zhongjing ,as the disease spectrum was changed gradually ,the de-scriptions of Fei Wei added symptoms such as hemoptysis and vomica ,and these were the symptoms of bronchiectasis,tuberculosis and pulmonary abscess. Fei Wei,as other disease names in traditional Chinese medicine,was representing different diseases in different history periods.关键词
