The personnel quantity and structure of health inspectors in health inspecting agencies in Shanghai

Abstract
Objective:To analyze the quantity and structure of health inspectors in health inspecting agencies in Shanghai and provide suggestions for personnel construction.Methods:Census and historical data collection were carried out to understand the general status of health inspectors from 2004 to 2013. Excel 2007 was used to make statistical analysis.Results:There were 1 145 health inspectors in Shanghai,and the number of health inspectors per 10 000 permanent residents decreased in the last decade. Besides,42.18% health inspectors were under 35 years old,and 88.03% were undergraduates or graduates. So the personnel were younger and the education level was higher in the past ten years. Conclusion:The number of health inspectors per 10 000 permanent residents in Shanghai is higher than that in the whole country;the inspectors undertake heavy workloads. The overall personnel quality is satisfying,but the personnel structure needs further improving.关键词
