Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of Er:YAG laser for pulpotomy in young permanent incisors. Methods 40 young permanent incisors with xeposed pulp were divided into 2 groups respectively. Teeth in laser group were treated with mineral trioxide aggregate combined with Er:YAG laser for pulpotomy with teeth in control group were treated with mineral trioxide aggregate ( MTA) pulpotomy only. Patients were scheduled for follow-up after 1, 3, 6, 12 months to undergo clinical and radiographic examination. Results 18 of the treated teeth in control group and 19 of the treated teeth in laser group showed no clinical or radiographic signs of failure during the follow-up period. There was no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion Pulpotomy with Er:YAG laser and direct capping with MTA was a successful and effective treatment for pulp exposure in young permanent incisors.关键词
