摘要

Abstract

A new method for measuring the super-cooled water droplets capture rate was proposed to study the icing properties of the super-hydrophobic coatings.Effects of icing temperature and inclined angle on super-cooled water droplets capture rate were investigated, and temporal evolution of the capture rates was studied.Moreover, evolution mechanisms of the super-cooled water droplets capture rate on the coatings were discussed by considering the surface micro-structures, the latent heat releasing process, and sliding process of super-cooled water droplets on the super-hydrophobic coatings.The results show that capture rates of super-cooled water droplets on the super-hydrophobic coatings are very small, the capture rates of super-cooled water droplets are insensitive to the changing of icing temperature, and are sensitive to the changing of inclined angle.The evolution of the capture rate of super-cooled water droplets possesses three distinct periods: the slowly increasing period, the rapidly increasing period, and the slowly tending to constantly period.
