Abstract

Constructed Wetland( CW) is a natural ecotypic sewage treatment technology� Its technics is simple and it has a good effect of treatment� The result of study that Subsurface Flow Wetland ( SSFW ) used in Shanghai sewage treatment is introduced here, and the contrastive analysis with the improved wetland� The decontaminating plants are bamboo, oleander and rush, and the filter media used is slag� As hydraulic retention time of SSFW is 6h, the removal efficiency of the process observed in this study is 37�2% for the chemical oxygen demand( CODcr ) , 64�5% for the biological oxygen demand( BOD5 ) , and 69�3% for the suspended solids(SS). An improved scheme is proposed at the last part� As hydraulic retention time of SSFW is 6h, the removal efficiency of the process observed in the improved wetland is 50�4% for the chemical oxygen demand (CODcr), 73�4% for the biological oxygen demand(BOD5), 80% for the suspended solids(SS), 26�7% for the ammonia nitrogen(NH3-N), 37�7% for the total phosphorus(TP).
