Abstract
Objective:To explore the effect of early combination on brain metabolism promoting drugs in the treat‐ment of mental and behavior disorders due to the use of alcohol .Methods:Seventy-two elderly patients with mental and behavior disorders due to the use of alcohol were randomly divided into early combination on brain metabolism promoting drugs combined with diazepam ,olanzapine group(study group ,n= 36)and diazepam ,olanzapine group (control group ,n=36)and received corresponding treatment for 12 weeks .Before treatment and 2 ,4 ,6 ,8 ,12 week‐end ,the patients were assessed by Mini-mental state examination(MMSE) ,Positive and negative syndrome scale (PAPSS) ,Clinical global impression severit of illness (CGI -SI)and Treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS) , respectively .The social function recovery and re-drinking rate were observed with 6 and 12 months follow up .Re‐sults:After 12 weeks ,34 cases in study group and 32 cases in control group had completed treatment .The scores of MMSE ,CGI-SI between the two groups before treatment had no statistically significant difference .However ,the scores of MMSE of each time point after treatment in the two group were significantly increased than before ,PANSS and CGI-SI were significantly decreased than before (all P<0 0.1) .The scores of MMSE in study group at 2 to 4 weekends after treatment were significantly higher than those in control group .PANSS and CGI -SI were signifi‐cantly lower than those in control group(all P<0 0.1) .However ,there were no significant differences between the two groups at 8 to 12 weekend .After 6 and 12 months follow up ,the social function recovery in study group were significantly better than those in control group(χ2 =4 9.42、7 6.75;P<0 0.1) .The re-drinking rate was significantly lower in study group after 12 month(χ2 =9 0.21 ,P<0 0.1) .Conclusion:Early combination on brain metabolism pro‐moting drugs combined with diazepam ,olanzapine can improve memory and intelligence quickly in elderly patients with mental and behavior disorders due to the use of alcohol ,increase social function recovery ,reduce the re-drink‐ing rate .关键词
