摘要
Abstract
Objective This study aims to investigate the expression of E-cadherin and vimentin,which are related to Epi-thelial to mesenchymal transition(EMT)pathway in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)with or without lymph node metastasis. This study also aims to investigate the role of EMT and related protein in lymph node metastasis of lung cancer. Methods Retro-spective analysis was conducted among 216 patients with histopathological confirmation of NSCLC by surgery or bronchoscope biop-sy. Immunohistochemistry results as well as the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin were analyzed. Follow up was conducted re-garding on the tumor staging and prognosis. Differences in immunohistochemistry results as well as the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin between group with or without lymph node metastasis were studied. Results In NSCLC tissue,expression of E-cadherin was significantly lower in group with metastasis compared with the group without metastasis. However,expression of Vimentin was significantly higher in group with metastasis compared with the group without metastasis. Both statistical significance were observed (P<0. 01). Conclusion E-cadherin and vimentin may play a role in lymph node metastasis of NSCLC via EMT pathway. The level of expression can predict risk of metastasis and combined detection of E-cadherin and vimentin can serve as an important biomarker.关键词
