Abstract
Objective:To summarize clinical experience of sixteen cases of large jaw cysts with distal impacted teeth treatment based on long-term follow-up,from the view of the orthodontist. Method:Sixteen cases of large jaw cysts with distal impacted teeth were collected from 2006 to 2014. The treatment consists of marsupialization of the cysts and preser-vation of permanent tooth.Obstructors were used after surgery to maintain the patency of the surgical opening.Panoramic ra-diograph was performed at the first,third and sixth month after sugery,as well as subsequent follow-up,to observe the posi-tion of impacted teeth. Orthodontic treatment or surgery assisted orthodontic traction was carried out if needed. Result:With the reducing of cyst cavity,return of distal impacted teeth were noticed in all 16 cases. The follow-up ranged from 1 to 5.5 years,with an average of 3 years. Further orthodontic treatment were also needed.The average orthodontic treatment duration was 2 years. Conclusion:Combined orthodontic-surgical treatment provides a new way for large jaw cysts with distal im-pacted teeth.关键词
