Abstract

The impoundment of Three Gorges Reservoir is more difficult because of the synchronization demand of Xiluodu Reservoir, Xiangjiaba Reservoir and Three Gorges Reservoir impoundment, which would influence the full play of their compre-hensive benefit. To meet the new requirement of the downstream to the discharge of the reservoirs at upstream during the im-poundment period, the reservoir scheduling scheme of Xiluodu Reservoir, Xiangjiaba Reservoir and Three Gorges Reservoir was studied and the water storage condition of the cascade reservoirs was optimized. On the basis of the comprehensive analysis of flood control, reservoir sediment, submerge areas, power generation and water supply, the optimal solution for water storage scheduling scheme was recommended. The analysis of the influence of flood control, impoundment and sedimentation shows that the scheme can relieve the water supply pressure on the downstream areas, which is of practical significance to guiding the joint operation of reservoirs impoundment.
