Abstract

Due to the uneven distribution of sand and gravel, strong permeability, large thickness variation, and the possible sand layer distributed in the riverbed, the safety analysis of seepage stability and structural stability must be taken before the construction of a dam on this foundation. Based on the object of Dagutan Hydropower Station covering the sand and gravel stratum, this paper applied the nonlinear D⁃P constitutive model to calculate with 3D finite element numerical simulation and studied on the stress and deformation of sluice chamber and foundation. The results show that the deformation of lock chamber and the deformation difference between adjacent dams are small and meet regulatory requirements. Lock chamber is mainly under compressive stress, there exists stress concentration phenomenon partly, but the stress value under the permitting range of specification, and the foundation bearing capacity and foundation settlement all meet regulatory requirements.
