摘要

Abstract

Corncob residue ( CCR) is often underutilized, as a waste burned at power plants. To valorize CCR, we studied the pretreatment of CCR by sodium sulfite to remove lignin, followed by enzymatic hydrolyzing the cellulose. The optimum reaction conditions were 12% dosage of sodium sulfite ( based on the dried weight of CCR) at pH 7 and 160 ℃ for 20 min. After the pretreatment, 77�45% lignin was removed and the cellulose content of CCR was increased to 85�17%. The residue was further hydrolyzed by cellulase (5 FPU/g) for 48 h. Glucose yield was 84�77%, whereas it was 70�58% when hydrolyzed by cellulase (20 FPU/g) without pretreatment by sodium sulfate.
