Abstract
Objective To investigate the career development needs of the specially contracted general practitioners (SCGP),in order to provide references for the implementation of SCGP plan. Methods In February 2015,a total of 312 specially contracted general practitioners who attended the first session of SCGP program in pilot provinces were enrolled. A self -designed questionnaire was used to conduct survey on the subjects, mainly covering basic information and career development needs. The recovery rate of questionnaires was 100. 0% . Results The career development needs of specially contracted general practitioners were ranked as follows:definite career path after the employment term ends(89. 4% ,279 / 312),the improvement of welfare and remuneration(84. 0% ,262 / 312),guidance by mentors in daily work(79. 2% ,247 / 312),the increase in the opportunities of training(70. 8% ,221 / 312),inclusion into county hospital personnel registry(70. 8% ,221 / 312)and the increase of the opportunities of promotion(64. 1% ,200 / 312). Specially contracted general practitioners with different educational degrees were significantly different in the demand rate for county hospital personnel registry and the increase of the opportunities of promotion ( P < 0. 05 ) . Specially contracted general practitioners with different professional titles were significantly different in the demand rate for the increase in the opportunities of training(P < 0. 05). Specially contracted general practitioners with different monthly incomes were significantly different in the demand rate for definite career path after the employment term ends, the improvement of welfare and remuneration, and the inclusion into county hospital personnel registry (P < 0. 05). Conclusion The most urgent problem is to set definite career path after SCGP employment term ends, and more attention should be given to the career development needs of general practitioners with undergraduate degree, low professional titles, and low incomes.关键词
