Abstract
Objective:To investigate the potential relationship between lymphangiogenesis and transfer and the prognosis of patients in human laryngeal carcinoma.Methods: Sixty specimens of human laryngeal cancer were used to observe the expression of LYVE-1 by immunohistochemistry IHC method. hTe lymphatic vessels density (LVD) was counted. The correlation between LVD and clinical characteristics of patients with laryngeal carcinoma was analyzed.Results:hTe positive rate of LVD expression (14.98±5.12) was signiifcantly higher than that in the normal tissue (6.76±3.01) (P<0.001). LVD was closely correlated with lymph node metastasis and clinical staging (P<0.05). Whereas no signiifcant differences were observed between LVD and patient age, gender, tumor differentiation, clinical classiifcation and distant metastasis (P>0.05). Five-year survival rate of high LVD group were 23.3%, and low LVD group were 66.7%, there were significant differences (P<0.001). Cox proportional hazard model was used to identify the statistically signiifcant prognostic factors of patients with laryngeal carcinoma indicated that clinical staging and LVD may be an independent factor to predict the prognosis of patients (P<0.05).Conclusion: hTese results indicate a possible connection between LVD and lymphatic metastasis in laryngeal cancer and suggest that LVD can serve as an independent factor to predict the prognosis of patients.关键词
