Abstract
Objective To investigate the clinical features, prognostic factors of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis ( CVST) , and improve awareness of CVST. Methods Clinical data of a total of 58 patients with CVST were retrospectively analyzed. The demographic, clinical, radiological, and outcome data were recorded. The follow-up period was 6 months. Pa-tients were divided into two groups as assessed by modified Rankin score at the end of follow-up. The prognostic factors of CVST were analyzed by COX regression model. Results Of all the 58 patients, the mean age was (32. 4 ± 11. 9)years. The most common presenting features were headache, observed in 82. 8% of the patients. The most common causes were postpar-tum or puerperium. Lumbar puncture was performed in 27 patients, the mean intracranial pressure was ( 297. 2 ± 106. 1)mmH2O. 77. 6% patients had at least two neuroimaging methods, while CT had only 20. 7% positive results. At the end of follow-up, 34 patients achieved a complete recovery, 9 patients had a partial recovery, 13 patients were dependent, and 1 patient died. Univariate analysis showed that gender ( female) , focal neurological function deficits and intracranial hem-orrhage were associated with poor outcome. The independent predictors of dependency or death identified by multivariate logis-tic regression analysis were gender ( female) , focal neurologic deficits and intracranial hemorrhage. Conclusion The clinical features of CVST are complicated and nonspecific. Gender ( female) , focal neurologic deficits and intracranial hemorrhage are independent predictors of poor prognosis.关键词
