Abstract
The salmon aquaculture industry in Norway has achieved its great success with its annual per capita product value of over 2 million Yuan. The key factors for their success are as follows: 1) the particularly superior national conditions; 2) the thorough studies on the growth physiology of salmon; 3) the fully covered laws and regulations; 4) the modern and large-scale farming. They are, however, also facing many problems. The main barriers that affect the Norwegian salmon farming industry are: 1) sea lice and the infectious salmon anemia virus; 2) the escape of salmon; 3) the challenge from transgenic salmon. The main issues arisen from salmon farming are: 1) pollution as well as propagations of diseases and parasites; 2) food safety concerns; 3) impact on the wide fishery resources. Finally, the potential inspirations from Norwegian salmon farming industry to the Chinese aquaculture industry are discussed. A possible measure is to explore the possibilities for farming tilapia or Cabasa fish with Norwegian way.关键词
