Clinical Observat ion on Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy Treated by Acupuncture and Western Medicine

Abstract
Objec itve:To compare the differences in the therapeutic effect on diabetic peripheral neuropathy be -tween the combined therapy of acupuncture and western medicine and only medicines .Mtehods:62 patients with diabetes peripheral neuropathy were randomly divided into two groups .Under the satisfactory control of blood glu-cose and blood lipids a,ll the patients were dripped alpha lipoic acid and took Vitamin B 1 and Methylcobalamin o-rally .In addition ,the treatment group was treated by acupuncture .After 2 weeks of treatment , the conduction ve-locity of peroneus communis nerve was measured before and after treatment in two groups .Results:The effective rates were 87.1%and 60%in the treatment group and the control group ,respectively .There was a statistically significant difference (P<0.01).After treatment,the motor nerve conduction velocity (MCV)and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SCV)of peroneus communis nerve were higher in the treatment group and the control group (P<0.05),and the motor nerve conduction velocity (MNCV)and sensory nerve conduction velocity (SNCV)of peroneus communis nerve in the treatment group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).Conclu-sion:Acupuncture has a clinically significant efficacy on diabetic peripheral neuropathy .关键词
