Abstract
Karen Horney’s neurotic theory has great applicability to the analysis of literary figures .Focusing on the neurotic personality of Christmas in Light in August ,this paper explores the spiritual world of the character ,thus better observes the character’s inner anxiety and hostility as well as reveals the source of distortion of human nature .The harm of racism and social culture leads to the protagonist’s personality alienated and develop the coexistent neurotic personality of compliance ,aggression and detachment .关键词
