摘要

Abstract

This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of glycine ( Gly) addition in low crude pro-tein ( CP) diets on growth performance, carcass composition and blood biochemical parameters of broilers. A total of 180 1-day-old healthy male broiler chicks ( Arbor Acres) were randomly allotted into three groups, and each group consisted of 6 replicates with 10 birds each. The three groups were: positive control ( PC) group that with 22.0% and 20.0% CP for starter and grower diets, negative control ( NC) group containing 18.0%and 15.5% CP in starter and grower diets, and Gly group with super addition of Gly on the basis of NC group to provide 2.32% Gly+serine ( Ser) . The experiment lasted for 42 d with 2 periods of 1 to 21 d and 22 to 42 d. The results showed as follows:1) the CP level reduced by 4.0% to 4.5% elevated feed/gain ( F/G) during starter phase (1 to 21 d) (P<0.05) and decreased average daily gain (ADG) during grower phase (21 to 42 d) ( P<0.05) . Gly addition significantly decreased F/G in starter phase ( P<0.05) and increased ADG in grower phase ( P<0.05) . The addition of Gly recovered the growth performance of chicks fed low CP diet to similar level of the PC group. 2) Low CP diet decreased the breast muscle percentage by 9.5% ( P<0.05) and elevated abdominal fat percentage by 60.3% ( P<0.05) than the PC diet. Supplementation of Gly significantly improved the breast muscle percentage by 17. 6% ( P<0. 05 ) and reduced the abdominal fat percentage by 34.6% ( P<0.05) , and recovered the carcass composition similar to the PC group. Low CP diet did not signifi-cantly affected the slaughter percentage, dressing percentage and leg muscle percentage irrespective the pres-ence of Gly compared to the PC diet ( P>0.05) . 3) No significant differences in plasma biochemical parame-ters were observed among groups ( P>0.05) . In conclusion, Gly addition can improve growth performance and carcass composition which imply the promising application of Gly in low CP diet for broilers.
