摘要

Abstract

To investigate the drought resistance of 4 species of Miscanthus ornamental grass, polyethylene glycol ( PEG) was used to simulate different levels of drought stress ( 10%, 20%, 30%) and make clear the effects of drought stress on the physiological and biochemical indices of 4 species of annual Miscanthus ornamental grass. 9 physiological and biochemical indices such as membrane permeability, chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, soluble sugar, MDA, SOD, CAT, POD, AsA-POD were measured to assess the drought resistance of 4 species of Miscanthus ornamental grass. With the increase of drought stress, the relative electric conductivities, soluble sugar concentration and MDA increased significantly while AsA-POD, chlorophyll a and chlorophyll b decreased significantly. Activities of SOD, CAT and POD increased and then decreased. According to variance analysis there was significant difference in the indices between the treated groups and the control(P<0.05) at the highest stress concentration. The drought resistance of 4 ornamental grass species of Miscanthus was evaluated preliminarily with subordinate function analysis and the finally order of the drought resistance was as follows:M. sinensis‘Zebrinus’ >M. sinensis‘Gracilimus’ >M. sinensis‘Variegatus’> M. sinensis Anderss..
