Abstract

Aiming to the 3-D characteristics of the crack and its force application complexity in solid rocket motor grain, the application of 3-D J-integral theory and numerical simulation to calulate the J-integral values at the Gauss integration points of the crack line was proposed in the dissertation, and the 3-D volumic J-integral expression and the finite-element numerical analysis method were given out. The wedge crack which traversed through the projection of star grain was simu⁃lated as a typical crack in solid rocket motor. As shown in the calculation results, the J-integral distribution along the crack front line behaved as the varying characteristics of high value at the center and low value in both sides, which proved that 3-D J-integral calculation method was suitable to reasearch the risk of solid rocket motor grain crack.
